7 years agoUpdating a previous report, Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts (ankle) is not going to play this weekend, according to Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston. Bogaerts is recovering well but still has lingering concerns. It appears that Bogaerts will make his return on the Red Sox's next homestand. This would alleviate any issues with playing on the turf in Toronto in the last road series before returning to Boston. The current Boston offense is not having any issues with Bogaerts out of the lineup and it ensures he will be fully healthy when he returns.--Ellis Canady - RotoBaller
