7 years agoSan Francisco Giants closer Mark Melancon (forearm) is expected to play catch in about a week. Melancon has yet to pitch this year and said in the spring that he did not feel 100 percent. With Hunter Strickland holding down the fort in the ninth inning and Melancon overcoming multiple injuries in his time with the Giants, the best-case scenario may be to bring him along slowly.
