Andrew Benintendi’s Woes Against Lefties Continue
7 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi earned the golden sombrero Tuesday night against the Blue Jays. His night ended going 0-for-5 with four strikeouts and a flyout. In 14 at-bats, Benintendi is hitting a woeful .071 against left-handed pitching, which does not include three strikeouts Tuesday night. This isn’t Benintendi having a bad day. He historically has had some trouble with left-handers. In 2017, he hit .232 in 131 plate appearances. Benintendi will get on track eventually. Until then, be careful which lefty you start him against.
