7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Alex Reyes (elbow) is beginning a rehab assignment with the Single-A Palm Beach Cardinals. He'll work as a starting pitcher in his rehab outings, but the big league club may end up using him in relief. Either way, the top prospect in the Cardinals system will certainly be on very strict pitch counts and innings limits. Reyes cannot come off the 60-day disabled list until May 28, so if everything goes as planned, he may be part of the Cardinals rotation or bullpen by early June.
