Geronimo Allison Projects as Third Wide Receiver in Green Bay
6 years agoRecent commentary by Rob Demovsky suggests that wide receiver Geronimo Allison is still projected to be third on the depth chart in Green Bay. Allison came into the league two years ago as an undrafted free agent. He has only had limited opportunities so far, but after fellow wide receiver Jordy Nelson was cut this offseason, he figures to have more opportunities. Green Bay runs more three wide receiver sets as any team in the NFL, so the third receiver position is a valuable role. Allison is a reliable but unremarkable player who has had a small smattering of productive games with quarterback Aaron Rodgers under center. Allison has limited upside and does not seem to be in Green Bay’s long-term plans. They drafted three wide receivers in the draft, all of whom represent a serious challenge to Allison’s projected role.
