6 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Denard Span hit his fifth home run of the season and his first with the Mariners in Wednesday night's 7-5 loss to the Astros. Span now has hits in each of his last three starts for his new team and is his hitting .286 in 28 at-bats since joining the Mariners via trade. The veteran outfielder does not possess a lot of power and is getting a bit long in the tooth, but he is a very capable hitter with an excellent eye at the plate (29 walks to 27 strikeouts). He should continue to see plenty of at-bats in the Mariners outfield rotation, but his fantasy value can be best utilized in deep, AL-only leagues right now.--Joey C - RotoBaller
