Denard Span Hitting .294 Since Joining Mariners
6 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Denard Span has been a positive presence since being acquired by trade, hitting .294 in 68 at-bats with his new team. His slugging percentage is up from .385 with the Rays to .441 with the Mariners, and he has a favorable matchup heading into Monday night's action against the Orioles. Baltimore expects to send to the mound right-handed starter Andrew Cashner, and Span is 7-for-22 (.318) lifetime against him with five runs driven in. Span is a veteran hitter who can get on base at an above-average clip but lacks the kind of power that makes him an attractive option in fantasy. His value currently is best reserved for deeper leagues and AL-only formats.
