Kyle Seager With Four Extra-Base Hits In Last Seven Games
6 years agoSeattle Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager was a one-man offense Tuesday night, hitting his 14th home run and knocking a two-run single in the Mariners 3-2 win. Seager now has two doubles and two home runs over his last seven games as fantasy owners hope this recent run is a positive sign moving forward. Despite solid power numbers (14 HRs, 47 RBI), Seager is slashing a very disappointing .225/.275/.421 with a below league average OPS of .696. Part of these numbers can be traced to Seager's reluctance to take a free pass in contrast to his high strikeout totals. Seager has typically carried a 2:1 K:BB throughout his career but currently has 74 strikeouts to only 18 walks. The veteran third baseman has been capable of posting improved numbers in the second half of seasons, but he is failing to meet the expectations of his potential this season.
