Nelson Cruz Hopes To Stay Hot After 11-Homer Month
6 years agoSeattle Mariners designated hitter Nelson Cruz went 0-for-3 Sunday to begin the month of July after popping 11 home runs in June. Over his last 95 at-bats, Cruz is slugging .726 with an OPS of 1.144 and is hitting .345 over his last 110 at-bats. The veteran slugger has overcome a slow start to his season to take over the team lead in home runs (21), and he is also second on the team in RBI (51). He also has done most of his damage hitting away from Safeco Field, slashing .331/.412/.615 on the road as opposed to only .215/.299/.509 at home. Cruz remains one of the premiere sluggers in the American League heading into this week's fantasy action.
