Tony Kemp Having Success Against Left-Handed Pitching
6 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Tony Kemp has provided a different dimension to the bottom of the lineup since being called up on May 15. He is hitting .365 over his last 15 games played and the left-handed hitter has shown that he can hold his own against southpaws. In 23 at-bats against left-handed pitching this season, he is hitting .348 with a .444 on-base percentage. Kemp has also shown to love hitting at Minute Maid park, posting a .375/.458/.425 line with nine runs driven in through 40 at-bats at home. Kemp will not be stealing any plate appearances from All-Star George Springer in the near future, but he continues to figure into the Astros outfield rotation with Josh Reddick, Marwin Gonzalez and Jake Marisnick all struggling to some degree this season.
