7 years agoSan Francisco Giants third baseman Evan Longoria (hand) has started doing light baseball activities after he fractured his hand on June 14, but manager Bruce Bochy said the team expects Longoria to return around the first week of August. “Yeah, he’s doing some really light baseball activities,” Bochy said. “A little grounders. We put a bat in his hand, but really it’ll be the end of this weekend that you’ll see him on the field, when we start ramping it up a little bit." Longo was hitting .246 with 10 home runs, 34 RBI and 28 runs in 256 at-bats before his injury. He's not a must-stash in shallow leagues. Pablo Sandoval continues to see most of the playing time at the hot corner in Longoria's absence, but the Panda is really only an option in NL-only affairs.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
