7 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Gerrit Cole was placed on the bereavement list on Tuesday. Outfielder Jake Marisnick was recalled from the minors in a corresponding move. Cole has been one of the best pitchers in all of baseball this year and tossed six shutout innings with 11 strikeouts against the A's on Monday. It's unclear if he'll have to miss his final start before the All-Star break. Marisnick was hitting under .200 this year and is likely to just be outfield depth until Cole returns in three to seven days.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
