7 years agoBoston Red Sox first baseman Steve Pearce (shin) was hit by a pitch on his left shin and left the game early on Thursday. Pearce initially stayed in the game, so his injury doesn't appear to be very serious. Since coming over from the Blue Jays in a trade, Pearce has been fantastic, going 11-for-24 (.458) with one homer and five RBI in eight games. It's safe to say his fantasy value has seen a significant boost in Beantown for a dynamite offense, even if he doesn't play every day. The Red Sox could play it safe and keep him out through the weekend.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
