7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley announced on Friday that he will retire at the end of the 2018 season, capping a 16-year career that included a World Series championship with the Phillies in 2008. He was named to six All-Star teams in his career, and he won five Silver Slugger awards. In his prime he was an elite second baseman who could hit for power and also steal bases, as he has 153 steals in 175 career attempts. The 39-year-old has become a part-time player with Los Angeles and is hitting just .231 with one home run and 14 RBI in 130 at-bats this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
