7 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom's agent, Brodie Van Wagenen, released a statement on Monday saying that they would prefer a trade right now if the Mets don't see deGrom in the long-term picture with their club. "We have discussed Jacob’s future with the Mets at length," said Van Wagenen. "Jacob has expressed interest in exploring a long-term partnership that would keep him in a Mets uniform for years to come. If the Mets don’t share [the] same interest, we believe their best course of action is to seriously consider trade opportunities now." deGrom leads all of baseball with his 1.68 ERA, but he has just five wins to show for it on a bad Mets team. Any contender would have to give up the house to land deGrom in a trade, but his fantasy owners would certainly see more victories in the second half if he was pitching for a contender.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
