Joc Pederson (OF, LAD) - Week 18 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 21% of leagues

ANALYSIS: Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson has four multi-hit games in his last five, adding to the power streak that he was on since the beginning of June. Pederson is now up to 13 home runs since the beginning of June, posting a .287 batting average in 144 plate appearances. Even more impressive is that Pederson has also walked in 8.3% of appearances, bringing his OBP to .357 in the time span.

One of the issues with Pederson's stock was that he was not creating enough runs, but he is now up to 21 RBI and 25 runs scored since the beginning of June. Pederson has primarily hit leadoff for the Dodgers, putting him in a good place for runs scored. He has a hard hit ball rate of 52.8% since the beginning of June and his 47.1% fly ball rate has led to his power surge as well.

If the fly ball happy Pederson can continue to produce a solid hard hit ball rate, there is an opportunity for Pederson to be an impact power hitter going forward. He only has a 9.4% soft hit ball rate since the beginning of June, making him a great addition in most leagues.
