Geronimo Allison Has Low-Key Game
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison had zero catches with one target in Thursday’s preseason game against Pittsburgh. Green Bay did not give their starters much run in the game. Despite a fairly under the radar camp, Allison seems to be in a better position now than he was earlier in the preseason. It seems pretty clear that he will take the third wide receiver job in Green Bay’s offense and get a large share of the snaps in 2018. The rookie wide receivers, J’Mon Moore, Equanimeous St. Brown, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, have all had disappointing camps. Without them pushing for a starting role, Allison really has no competition for a spot in the starting line-up. Allison is a dependable player who will produce consistent stat lines if he gets playing time. He is limited physically, so he is unlikely to put up any dominating games. He shouldn’t be targeted in drafts because his lack of upside but could serve as a useful stop-gap measure in specific situations.
