Packers Coach Praises Jamaal Williams
6 years agoAs reported by ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy gave praise to running back Jamaal Williams. McCarthy said, “He's really poised to have a big year. I think we'll be talking about him at the end of the season as someone who made the second-year jump." It is important not to read too much into this. There has been some speculation that this may be a sign that Green Bay may be moving away from a running back-by-committee approach, however it is more likely that this is just standard training camp talk. Williams will be Green Bay’s starter at the start of the season. His biggest competition for carries, Aaron Jones, is suspended the first two games. Williams maintains a strong advantage to keep the role even after he returns. Additionally, Williams has looked like he has improved from last year. So his stock should be rising in fantasy drafts.
