Aaron Jones Quiet in Preseason Debut
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones saw his first action this preseason in Friday’s game against the Oakland Raiders. Jones missed some time due to a hamstring injury earlier in the preseason. Jones had five carries for 18 yards in the game. Green Bay rested all of their starting offensive linemen and the backups played quite poorly, so it is difficult to judge Jones’ performance. Still, it is good to see him on the field and healthy after his prolonged absence. Jones is suspended for the first two games of the regular season. When he returns he will behind Jamaal Williams on the depth chart. Jones is a more explosive runner than Williams but injuries, pass-protection issues, and the suspension have reduced his role on the team. He is a dynamic runner, so he maintains enough upside to be worth a late-round pick.
