6 years agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison had a single catch in Thursday’s preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs. It was a 31-yard grab that went for a touchdown in the first quarter from quarterback Deshone Kizer. It was his lone target on the day. Allison displayed nice route running to beat the cornerback, but it was against weak competition so take the performance with a grain of salt. While most of Green Bay’s starters rested in the game, Allison’s role appears to be on slightly thinner ice. No other receiver lower on the depth chart has demonstrated that they are ready to see big minutes come Week 1, so you can be very confident that it will be Allison lining up outside when Green Bay goes to three wide receiver sets. Allison has nice size and is very reliable, but lacks the speed or athleticism to ever truly dominate. Between that and his current role on the offense, he should be a useful stop-gap measure for fantasy in case of byes or injury but not much more.--Tyger McGuiggan
