Randall Cobb Catches 75-Yard Touchdown in Week 1
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb exploded in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears, catching nine passes for 142 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets. Cobb caught the game winning touchdown when he caught a simple drop off pass and carried it more than 60 yards to the end zone. Cobb and the rest of Green Bay’s offense couldn’t get much going to start the game. However, an injury to quarterback Aaron Rodgers necessitated a quicker passing game. This change of focus allowed Cobb to thrive. Unfortunately, Cobb’s production can be inconsistent, as it too frequently relies on whether he has a big run and catch like in Sunday’s game. He isn’t able to replicate that in every game. The fact that he was targeted so heavily is an excellent sign, but he should probably still be viewed as a WR3 until we see some consistency.
