Justin Tucker Claims Special Teams Award
6 years agoBaltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker was selected by the NFL as its AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for booting a pair of 52-yard field goals through the uprights in the Ravens 27-14 victory over the Denver Broncos. Tucker finished the game two of three on field goal attempts -- getting one of his kicks blocked -- although he was also three of three on extra-point attempts. This is the eighth such weekly honor that the two-time Pro Bowl selection has received. The NFL's most accurate kicker of all time has 25 points this season, as he is five of six on field goals and 10 of 10 on extra points. With the Ravens having one of the highest-scoring and efficient offenses, Tucker is a must-start in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 28-year-old kicker averages more than nine points during regular season contests against the Steelers for his career and has scored at least eight points in his last four games at Heinz Field, which includes tallying 12 points in a 2014 playoff game. Pittsburgh has given up 12 touchdowns and two field goals this season.
