Matt Milano Keeps Getting Better
6 years agoBuffalo Bills linebacker Matt Milano is off to a good start to the 2018 season after closing an up-and-down rookie campaign strong. The second-year pro was named the AFC Player of the Week on Wednesday for his eight tackles (four solo) and one-sack performance in Week 3. He also recovered a fumble and had an interception in the Bills 27-6 win over the Vikings. Milano now has 21 tackles (14 solo), one sack, one interception, two passes defensed and two tackles for losses through the first three games. He recorded 50 tackles (32 solo) to go along with one sack, four passes defensed and two tackles for losses last season, and half of those stats came over the last four games. "He continues to get better," head coach Sean McDermott said. "That's a good thing for us, obviously. His growth, his development, whether it's in the run game, the pass game, he plays some special teams as well. I've really been pleased with the way he's played, in particular this past weekend." Milano, who received a 76.7 grade overall by Pro Football Focus versus the Vikings, currently ranks among the top-15 linebackers overall as well as in pass coverage and run defense, according to the analytics website. With the Bills offense likely to struggle most weeks, Milano should have plenty of opportunities to make plays going forward. Therefore, he would not be a bad streaming option for fantasy players going forward.
