FanDuel Quarterbacks - Week 4 DFS Picks
Andy Dalton - QB, CIN @ ATL (FD - $7,400)
Dalton has been very consistent to start the season and doing so in a bit of a quiet fashion. He has two or more touchdowns in each of his three games this season and is now up against the Falcons, who come in with the 25th DVOA vs the pass. This game has an over-under set at 52, making it the highest on the slate, so we should be in for plenty of offense. Dalton does have five interceptions to start the season, with four coming in his most recent game, but interceptions have high variance, so I wouldn't be too worried. The Falcons defense has allowed 300 yards and three touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks in the past two weeks, a level of production Dalton should be able to reach this week.
Ryan Tannehill - QB, MIA @ NE (FD - $6,800)
Tannehill and the surprising 3-0 Dolphins are on the road in New England against the Patriots who need to win. If everyone is expecting the Patriots to come out hungry and put up some points, this will lead to a positive game script for the Dolphins, as they should be playing from behind. This will lead to plenty of opportunity for passing rather than running the ball, thus, putting Tannehill in a great spot. He has two or more touchdown in each game this season but has yet to break the 300-yard threshold. More of a tournament option this week compared to cash games.
FanDuel Running Backs - Week 4 DFS Picks
James White - RB, NE vs MIA (FD - $6,100)
With the news coming out this week that Patriots' running back Rex Burkhead is going to IR, we should see an expanded role for White in the offense. He is clearly the pass-catching back for New England, as rookie Sony Michel is doing most of the rushing, albeit very inefficiently. White has posted 11.9 or more FanDuel points in each of his three games this season, with two touchdowns in the passing game so far. He has 20 targets through these first three games, playing on 52% of the snaps, and an aDOT sitting at 4.59. Great in any format this week.
Jordan Howard - RB, CHI vs TB (FD - $7,200)
Howard has seen 15 or more rushing attempts in two of the three games this season, along with 17 or more total touches in all three games. He should continue to see a large role in the offense, simply for the fact that Bears' quarterback Mitch Trubisky isn't very good. He is having trouble pushing the ball downfield, which should allow Howard to see more work this week since they are up against the Buccaneers, who have the 18th DVOA vs the rush and the 28th DVOA vs running backs in the passing game.
FanDuel Wide Receivers - Week 4 DFS Picks
Sterling Shepard - WR, NYG vs NO (FD - $6,200)
When it comes to wide receivers, I always look for players who are seeing the volume in terms of targets. Not looking for a one-off guy who can catch a 50-yard touchdown, I want a consistent part of the offense. Shepard is appearing that type of receiver this season, as he has seven targets in two of the three games this season and should be in a spot to repeat that this week, as he is up against the Saints, who come in with the 32nd DVOA vs the pass. Shepard has an aDOT of only 9.17, which should play into the hands of Eli Manning, who hasn't shown the ability to throw the ball downfield.
Kenny Golladay - WR, DET @ DAL (FD - $5,800)
Golladay is still too cheap for the current role he has in the Lions' offense, so we want to jump on this before his price gets any higher. Currently, he has 120 air yards through three weeks and is coming in with a very impressive aDOT sitting at 14.31. Stafford is pushing the ball downfield to him, giving him plenty of upside in terms of yards. Golladay has seven or more targets in each of his three games this season, six or more receptions in each game, and has come away with two touchdowns on the year.
FanDuel Tight End - Week 4 DFS Pick
Eric Ebron - TE, IND vs HOU (FD - $5,500)
Ebron has burned plenty of fantasy owners in the past, including me, but he will continue to be a solid DFS option as long as Jack Doyle is out. Last week, Ebron played on 88% of the snaps and finished with 11 targets, but only had five catches for 33 yards. The overall efficiency isn't there, mainly due to the fact Andrew Luck can't throw the ball really at all and is looking like Chad Pennington. If Luck is going to have an insanely low aDOT of 5.19 but is going to be peppering Ebron with targets, he has to be considered as an easy DFS option this week.
FanDuel Defense - Week 4 DFS Pick
Chicago Bears vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers - (FD - $4,300)
Defense, as a position is genearlly pretty tough to nail down who will be the most productive each week, so I like to focus on upside potential. We saw on Monday night that the Buccaneers offensive line had a tough time protecting Fitzpatrick, so hopefully, up against this Bears front seven, it will be even worse. The Bears have 14 sacks through three games and five interceptions. Pressure on the QB leads to either fumbles or rushed throws, which can lead to interceptions. Plenty of upside here, so lock them in.
