Eagles Unable To Protect Carson Wentz
6 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles fell to 2-2 on the season after blowing a 17-3 third-quarter lead in their 26-23 overtime loss to the Tennessee Titans. A big reason that the Eagles were unable to maintain the lead was their inability to protect quarterback Carson Wentz. Wentz was under siege all day by the Titans, as they were able to get him from all fronts. In total, the Eagles gave up four sacks and 11 hits on Wentz. Guards Stefan Wisniewski and Brandon Brooks struggled the most, as both were responsible for Wentz getting hit on multiple occasions. The offensive line, ranked third overall by Pro Football Focus through the first three weeks, has allowed Wentz to be sacked nine times and hit a total of 19 times over the last two weeks.
