BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 32% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Despite his less than stellar reputation in the NFL, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles has long been a solid fantasy football option with an ownership lower than it should be. He's shown himself to be capable of putting up top-tier fantasy numbers in the past and while Jacksonville's improved defensive play over the past few years has meant Bortles hasn't had to throw as often, he remains a solid player.
Bortles currently sits as the QB15 in scoring, but that number is tanked by a horrendous Week 3 performance against the Titans. In Week 4, Bortles showed why he's a startable fantasy option, passing for 388 yards and two touchdowns while throwing an interception.
Bortles has three strong wide receivers -- Keelan Cole, Dede Westbrook, and Donte Moncrief -- to throw the ball to this season as well as a good receiving back, T.J. Yeldon, who has seen an increase in usage while Leonard Fournette deals with a hamstring injury. In addition, Bortles is one of the most efficient rushers from the quarterback position in the league, helping provide him with a usually-solid fantasy floor. Those who stream QB each week should have Bortles at or near the top of their rankings for Week 5 with a matchup against the Chiefs' soft defense on deck.
