Welcome back to the NBA season! We only have two games tonight, but these are two fantastic games. The Philadelphia 76ers will take on the Boston Celtics in a game that could potentially be featured in the Eastern Conference Finals. On the Western side, Oklahoma City will take on the Golden State Warriors, although these teams are dealing with some injuries.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/16/18. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on DraftKings.

DraftKings DFS Guards
Kyrie Irving - PG, vs PHI ($7,600)
Irving has been practicing for Boston, suggesting he'll be healthy to start the season. He looked outstanding in 60 games last season, averaging 24.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.1 steals in 32.1 minutes per game. He performed well against the Sixers last season, as well, and Irving could have something to prove early this season. He's an elite player, who comes with a relatively low price tag for his upside.
Dennis Schroder - PG/SG, at GS ($6,300)
Schroder is in an odd position, but we'll know more leading up to the game. Russell Westbrook is questionable for Opening Night, and it looks like he may be closer to doubtful. If Westbrook is out, Schroder will draw the start. If that's the case, he's entirely too cheap in a fast-paced game. If Westbrook is able to suit up, Schroder will see less playing time, but should lead the offense off the bench. He'll make a solid tournament option in that situation.
DraftKings DFS Forwards
Paul George - SF/PF, at GS ($8,000)
The pricing is a bit loose on Opening Night, and I love where PG13 is priced at. He found plenty of success against the Golden State Warriors last season, as he averaged 20.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.5 blocks, and 3.0 steals in 36.2 minutes per game against them. George will also see a boost in usage if Westbrook is ruled out, adding to his value. If Westbrook is starting, Kevin Durant may be a better per dollar option, but George can still be considered in that situation.
Robert Covington - SF/PF, at BOS ($4,700)
Covington isn't the "star" of Philadelphia, and he's generally the player that goes overlooked on the team. His minutes to start the season will be a bit unknown, as they ranged anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes per game last year. He's the starter, though, and has flashed tremendous upside because of his scoring potential. Covington could also play upwards of 35+ minutes tonight with Wilson Chandler expected to be out. If Chandler is formally ruled out, Covington can slide into all leagues, as he comes with a surprisingly low price tag.
DraftKings DFS Centers
Damian Jones - C, vs OKC ($3,000)
Jones is the minimum price tonight, and he's expected to draw the start tonight. He likely won't see more than 20 minutes, but that could be enough time for him to hit value. He scored eight points with two rebounds and one block (12.0 fantasy points) in 13.4 minutes against the Thunder last season. Jones also has a full offseason of workouts with an elite Golden State coaching staff. He does come with some risk, but he's an elite option in a "stars and scrubs" type of lineup.
