6 years agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb may be starting to see his role in Green Bay’s offense shrink. Cobb saw only the fourth most snaps last week against the Los Angeles Rams along with only five targets. This is a major cause for concern heading into a Week 9 game against the New England Patriots. Cobb hasn’t been a good schematic fit in Green Bay for some time. The Packers put their receivers on an island and creating separation has never been one of Cobb’s strong suits. If he doesn’t see a lot of snaps then he will not have much fantasy value. Green Bay may have been hesitant to use Cobb extensively following a hamstring injury but it is also possible that rookie wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling may have usurped his role as the second wide receiver. Cobb as always been a risky fantasy play even at his most productive. With an uncertain role he should be avoided in most formats for Week 9.--Tyger McGuiggan
