6 years agoWith the news that Green Bay wide receiver Geronimo Allison (groin) has been ruled out for Week 9’s matchup against the New England Patriots, rookie wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling should see significant action in the game. Valdes-Scantling filled in for an injured Allison earlier this year and performed well. Valdes-Scantling’s role in Green Bay’s offense has gradually grown this year as quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ confidence in the rookie has grown. Valdes-Scantling brings much needed speed to Green Bay’s offense. It is hard to predict how many targets any Green Bay player will receive outside of receiver Davante Adams, so there some risk in starting Valdes-Scantling. However, the upside is there to warrant a flex start. You can view Marquez Valdes-Scantling as a high-risk/high-upside option for Week 9 and an excellent bye week fill-in for any team in need.--Tyger McGuiggan
