6 years agoWashington Capitals defenseman John Carlson picked up a pair of assists with a plus-two rating, five shots on goal and three blocked shots in Monday's 4-2 loss against the Edmonton Oilers. The productive rearguard has already logged six multi-point performances, logging five goals with 16 points through just 13 contests, including a goal and nine points on the power play. Carlson is on pace for a ridiculous 101 points. He is a bit of a late bloomer, posting a career-best 15 points, 53 assists and 68 points last season with 32 power-play points. Enjoy the ride with the 28-year-old defenseman.--Daniel Dobish
