Jamaal Williams' Workload Too Small For Week 11
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams has seen his role in the offense drastically reduced over the past several games. Running back Aaron Jones has established himself as the clear starter and has received most of the snaps and touches over the past two weeks. Without many touches, Jamaal Williams is unlikely to be able to produce much on Thursday night against the Seattle Seahawks. Williams played well last year in the absence of quarterback Aaron Rodgers when he touched the ball more than 20 times a game. He is the type of player who needs to see a heavy workload to get into the groove. He has never been able to be an efficient runner without consistent usage. That consistent usage is not going to happen with Rodgers on the field. Williams started the year off as the starter but was underwhelming. He held on for a little while against Jones due to his excellent pass protection, but the gap in running ability was too much to ignore. At his current usage, Williams does not have much fantasy significance. He would only have value if Jones were injured and even then, the ceiling would be limited. He should not be started in Week 11 against Seattle and should only be owned in deeper leagues.
