6 years agoGreen Bay running back Jamaal Williams had one carry for five yards in a Week 12 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Williams has seen his role reduced to almost nothing this season. He began the year as Green Bay’s starter but has gradually ceded touches to the more explosive and effective running back Aaron Jones. Williams has been fairly inefficient this year when he has gotten opportunities. He had been successful in 2017 when he saw 20 or more touches a game, but has been less efficient with a smaller workload. As long as Aaron Rodgers is healthy and behind center there isn’t going to be that type of volume for the running game. Additionally, Jones has been very successful when he has gotten the chance. At this point there simply does not seem to be any opportunity for Williams to claim a larger share of the workload and reclaim some fantasy relevance. Williams would only have value if Jones were to be injured and even then his value would be limited. Williams can safely be left on the waiver wire in most league formats.--Tyger McGuiggan
