6 years agoAtlanta Hawks power forward/center Omari Spellman has been ruled out for Saturday’s contest against the Denver Nuggets due to right hip soreness. The big man also missed Wednesday’s game against Washington, seeing his playing time dwindle over the past two weeks. Dewayne Dedmon and Alex Len could see an uptick in minutes, with Miles Plumlee doubtful to play. The nature of the Hawks’ rough season has allowed Spellman to draw eight starts and record three double-doubles, so he’s not be discounted entirely, but for now, he belongs on the wire.--Jesse Borek
