6 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Joey Lucchesi silenced the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday, firing five shutout innings and collecting his second victory. The D-Backs entered the contest averaging over eight runs per game, but Lucchesi scattered just four hits and a walk while striking out six. The 25-year-old southpaw has yet to allow a run while holding a crisp 0.97 WHIP and 11.3 K/9 through 10 1/3 innings of work. He’s certainly fit the bill early on as the Padres ace and reliable fantasy starter. He'll get the San Francisco Giants next Tuesday. Lucchesi holds a 2.20 ERA in three career starts against the Giants, including 5 1/3 scoreless frames on March 29.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
