6 years agoWashington Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby allowed three goals on 28 shots in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals on Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes. Holtby and the Caps were clinging to a 3-2 lead late in the third period, but a high-sticking call on Nic Dowd gave Carolina a power play, and Jordan Staal tied it up to force overtime. However, Brooks Orpik bailed out Holtby in the overtime period, as the Capitals won the first two games of the series on home ice. The series moves to Raleigh in Game 3 on Monday night. --Daniel Dobish
