Elvis Andrus Produces Another Multi-Hit Game
6 years agoTexas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus finished 3-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and two RBI in Sunday's 8-7 comeback victory against the Oakland Athletics, just missing the cycle by a double. He moves into sole possession of second place on the franchise's all-time list for triples (45), breaking a tie with Ruben Sierra. He trails only Michael Young, who had 55 three-base hits in his Texas career. It is Andrus' fourth consecutive multi-hit game, and he is hitting .529 (9-for-17) with two doubles, a triple, two home runs and seven RBI during the four-game outburst. Overall, he is hitting an impressive .414 with seven extra-base hits, including three homers, with 12 RBI across the first 14 outings. He'll look to keep it going against Los Angeles Angels righty Matt Harvey on Monday.
