Joey Lucchesi Stumbles Again
6 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Joey Lucchesi lost his second consecutive game Monday after allowing five earned runs to the Colorado Rockies. Lucchesi was bit by a pair of walks and seven hits, including two homers, and he only struck out four. Positively, he survived past the seventh inning, which has been a rare feat for Padres starters in 2019. After two initial scoreless outings, Lucchesi has scuffled in two straight contests to sit with a 5.06 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 8.9 K/9. He’ll take the mound at home this Sunday against the Cincinnati Reds. With the Reds struggling to score, Lucchesi is a viable fantasy option despite the recent struggles.
