6 years agoCarolina Hurricanes defenseman Jaccob Slavin racked up three assists with a plus-two rating and a blocked shot in 38:27 of ice time in Wednesday's Game 7 victory in double-overtime against the Washington Capitals. The Carolina rearguard racked up nine helpers with a plus-four rating during the seven-game Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series, and he is tied with San Jose's Erik Karlsson for the NHL lead in playoff assists so far. The Hurricanes advanced to face the New York Islanders in Round 2. In his last game against the Isles, he scored a power-play game-winning goal on Jan. 8 in New York.--Daniel Dobish
