6 years agoSan Jose Sharks forwards Joonas Donskoi (undisclosed) and Joe Pavelski (head) will not play in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Colorado Avalanche on Friday. Donskoi missed Game 7, although he was able to participate in the team's morning skate on Friday. He absorbed a huge hit during overtime in Game 6 against Vegas, and that might be the reason he is sidelined. Pavelski banged his head on the ice in Game 7, and head coach Pete DeBoer says the team's leading goal scorer is considered day-to-day. It appears Gustav Nyquist will be promoted to the top scoring line alongside Logan Couture and Timo Meier, while Dylan Gambrell appears likely to draw in on the fourth line with Barclay Goodrow and Melker Karlsson.--Daniel Dobish
