6 years agoCarolina Hurricanes goaltender Petr Mrazek (lower body) suffered an apparent lower-body injury midway through the second period in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the New York Islanders. He tweaked his leg on a shot earlier in the second period and was reportedly trying to stretch it out for several minutes. Mrazek made a nice kick save on a 2-on-1, but it appeared to worsen as he went right to left for a save. He skated to the bench during a stoppage, slammed his stick on the boards, talked to someone on the bench, then went to the dressing room slamming his stick again. Not good. Curtis McElhinney is on for his third-career playoff appearance, and first this season.--Daniel Dobish
