6 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Chris Bassitt allowed just one earned run, three hits and no walks with nine strikeouts over seven innings in a quality start and no-decision on Sunday in Toronto. He threw 70 of his 103 pitches for strikes despite the fact he threw first-pitch strikes to just 12 of the 26 batters he faced. He left with a 1-1 tie in a game that got crazy in the 11th inning with a total of seven runs between the two teams. The 30-year-old has allowed just one earned run across 12 innings with 16 strikeouts. His next scheduled start is set for Saturday in Pittsburgh opposite Trevor Williams. If you need pitching help in AL-only leagues, consider Bassitt.--Daniel Dobish
