6 years agoCarolina Hurricanes forward Saku Maenalanen (hand) needed corrective surgery for a hand injury suffered in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the New York Islanders and he is expected to miss at least 10 to 14 days. He is expected to miss the remainder of the semifinals and a good chunk of the Conference Finals should the Canes advance. Defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk (shoulder) is out for Game 3 after a hard hit in Sunday's game, and all indications are that he will be out a while. He'll be re-evaluated by doctors on Tuesday. Haydn Fleury is expected to draw in for TVR.--Daniel Dobish
