6 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Jeff Samardzija allowed just two hits and a walk over five scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday. He threw 53 of his 79 pitches for strikes, including first-pitch strikes to 15 of the 18 batters he faced. The former Notre Dame wide receiver improved to 2-1 with a 2.53 ERA and 1.06 WHIP, all solid numbers across the board. He'll look to keep it going in the second of a two-start week in Cincinnati on Sunday.--Daniel Dobish
