6 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Felix Pena came on to pitch in the second inning of Wednesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays, as manager Brad Ausmus elected to use Luke Bard as an opener for the first inning. It worked out fine, as Bard worked a perfect first inning with two strikeouts. Pena yielded three earned runs and four hits, including two homers, with no walks and five strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings. Pena qualified for the victory, moving to 1-1 with a 4.05 ERA, pitching well early on. His opponents are hitting .149 on Pena's first 50 pitches and .333 after that with four homers in 33 at-bats, including two on Wednesday. He'll look for better results in his next scheduled day next Tuesday in Detroit.--Daniel Dobish
