6 years agoArizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher Jon Duplantier isn't expected to be inserted into the starting rotation in place of the demoted Zack Godley, at least not yet. General manager Dan Hazen said that Duplantier hasn't been stretched out enough in the minors to be used in the short term. Anyway, Duplantier isn't eligible to be recalled until May 7, since he was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Sunday. Players who are sent down face a 10-day waiting period before they can be summoned. It appears Taylor Clarke will be the short-term solution, perhaps serving as a bridge until Duplantier has been stretched out sufficiently.--Daniel Dobish
