6 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks with five strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He threw 58 of his 90 pitches for strikes, and had first-pitch strikes to 13 of the 23 batters he faced. Overall he is 4-2 with a 2.75 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 39 1/3 innings across his seven starts, including quality starts in four of the outings. He'll look to keep things going back at home in his next scheduled start on Friday night against the Cleveland Indians.--Daniel Dobish
