Jason Vargas Checks Out Of Game Early
6 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jason Vargas (hamstring) left Sunday's start against the Milwaukee Brewers due to tightness in his hamstring. He allowed three earned runs, three hits and no walks with five strikeouts across four innings in a loss. Vargas ended up throwing 36 of his 50 pitches for strikes before departing, and his ERA ballooned to 5.92. It's uncertain if he will have to miss any time or serve a stint on the 10-day injured list, but fantasy owners in NL-only leagues will want to reserve him heading into the new week.
