6 years agoArizona Diamondbacks catcher Alex Avila (quadriceps) is "getting close" to a return from the 10-day injured list, manager Torey Lovullo said Thursday. He has been catching in games earlier this week during extended spring training, although he got the day off to rest on Wednesday. Carson Kelly and John Ryan Murphy continue to hold down the fort behind the plate in Avila's absence. When healthy, he can be a decent backstop in deeper NL-only fantasy play.--Daniel Dobish
