6 years agoCarolina Hurricanes left wing Micheal Ferland (upper body) returned to action in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Bruins on Thursday. He was a bit rusty, getting outskated early in the first period on a goal by Steven Kampfer. He skated on the fourth line with Greg McKegg and Jordan Martinook, picking up an assist on McKegg's marker midway through the second period. That was the last hurrah for the Canes, as they coughed up four unanswered goals in the 5-2 loss. The Canes will look to rebound in Game 2 on Sunday afternoon.--Daniel Dobish
