6 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Manny Machado went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. The empty day snapped an 11-game hitting streak for the 26-year-old and he’s now slashing .262/.340/.453 on the season with nine homers and 47 runs-plus-RBI. Machado still hasn’t fully heated up, posting a career-worst 22 percent strikeout rate but does have a 1.015 OPS and nine extra-base hits in May.
